PeperWeet Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Hello, I'm new here. I would like to know the type of font / typography on the coastal birds stamps. I only found this:https://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2015/pb22416/html/info_006.htm http://www.alwayswithhonor.com/USPS-Coastal-Birds Does anyone know the answer to my question & does anyone know if they are always the same on de modern American stamps? Thanks in advance!
Solution Ignacio Posted June 27, 2018 Solution Posted June 27, 2018 House Eames Regular Italic for Red Knot and Eames Book for the rest I think. 1
Ignacio Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Actually I think that USA is Eames Book but POSTCARD could be Eames Medium, too small to be sure.
PeperWeet Posted June 28, 2018 Author Posted June 28, 2018 Isn't it strange that there seens to be no attention for fonttypes in modern American stamps? Modern dutch stamps always mention the fonttype and the designer of the font. How can we be absolutely sure about the fonts on the coastal birds stamps?

In this case, the fonts are the ones cited by Ignacio. In general, you can ask the art director: https://www.behance.net/gallery/35057143/USPS-Postage-Stamps-Coastal-Birds https://twitter.com/gregbreeding
PeperWeet Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Where can I find more info about these fonttypes and the designers?
Kevin Thompson Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Click on the link in Ignacio’s very first response to you—it will take you to the Eames page at House Industries.
