bruce54 Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 My current record company is wanting to create a new CD using the font from one of my old records. I no longer have the original proof and I am seeking to locate the one we previously used or a very close substitute. The original cover for Fresh Out! was created in 1981 by Richard Paul Thompson's advertising company in Houston, Texas that I contracted with to prepare the cover.
Solution Greg Yerbury Posted March 18, 2019 Solution Posted March 18, 2019 I would deeply suspect that this is lettering you probably want some kind of marker pen, or brush font two examples amongst many are Lucky Fellas & Freeland.
Kevin Thompson Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Have to agree with Greg—given the age of the original and that I am not finding a match anywhere, I suspect it is lettering, not a typeface. Similar: The Black Festival
bruce54 Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 Well, I am amazed at the expertise on this forum and most thankful for the assistance!
Riccardo Sartori Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 You could want to look for keywords like "brush", "ink", "Japanese ink", "Chinese ink", and perhaps, as Kevin's suggestion exemplifies, also "horror". Here a couple more suggestions for typefaces in a similar vein: download at MyFonts download at MyFonts
