Geoff Vane Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Looks like Century Schoolbook mixed with Western. Typical asymmetrical A slab. The E is less common too. Curved inner T. Can't find it among Western fonts and thousands of slab serif fonts... Can ya help me? Cheers, Geoff
Solution R::bert Posted April 2, 2017 Solution Posted April 2, 2017 Look at the different T, G and N. I guess it is manipulated and no font.
Ralf Herrmann Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 It was probably set with a font and then distorted, but with this amount of distortion, identifying the underlying font is just extremely hard. 1
Geoff Vane Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 Well the A is very specific. Not a lot of fonts have this kind of A.
George Thomas Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 If I were tasked with recreating that look I would select an appropriate font, most likely a Clarendon, perhaps Medium or Bold, convert it to outlines, add the top serif on the /A, stretch it vertically, then distort it in Illustrator (preferably) or Photoshop.
Kevin Thompson Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 The album cover uses Iconian’s Mrs. Monster for the band’s name (Kings of Hong Kong), but so far I haven’t found the album title typeface among Iconian’s offerings. Some similars: Academy Serial Publication (free for personal use only) 1
