Claire Bibio Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform I really like Times New Roman, however I think it's quite old design. I'm looking for a font that is easy for the eyes, interesting to look, won't bore the reader and also has modern look. I will use it for setting long as well as short texts.
oldnick Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Not to pick nits, but Times New Roman was first released in 1932, which places it squarely within the era of Modern Poetry, Literature and Art. If you're looking for type with a more “with-it” vibe, “contemporary” would be a better and mores descriptive term.

JamesT Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Wasn't Skolar intended as a sort of contemporary alternative to TNR?
