mads Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform I'm looking for a versatile and (dare I say it) modern condensed grotesque, mainly for headlines and shorter texts. I need: - upper and lowercase - italics - A few weights would be nice - the ability to use as a webfont. I've been using this as a "placeholder" for now:http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/bebas-neue Any suggestions? Best regards Mads

Nick Shinn Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 A modern bold condensed grotesque style is impossible. It’s the Ur-sans, after all. The present vogue for this style strikes me as very retro.
tmac Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Tablet Gothic. Typekit:https://typekit.com/fonts/tablet-gothic Type Together:http://www.type-together.com/Tablet%20Gothic It's expensive but I'll tell you, it works hard for its money. Mind you, if you're only doing headlines the whole family might be overkill. I'm finding the narrow and regular to work very well at small sizes. The oblique hasn't yet made it to myfonts. EDIT: Tablet Gothic isn't as straight-sided as your example typeface. But that's one of the things that actually makes it versatile. EDITx2: Maybe you're looking for a free font. Sorry, if that's the case. Don't steal.
