GERGE Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform This is my first post here, but I've lurked for years without an account =) So, hi everyone! I have a question. I need a typeface for an ebook. I know the usual requirements; good hinting, high x-height, thick lines... But I don't know how to proceed after them. Neither Kindle nor Kobo renders kernings. So, which typeface offers the best performance without kerning and has the usual requirements? Thanks!
Tom Gewecke Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Does it matter? I think usually the reader of an epub selects the font from a standard list. E.g. http://www.mcelhearn.com/iwant-more-fonts-and-sizes-on-the-kindle-and-ki...
GERGE Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 It is a technical book with monospaced codes and the such, customers would certainly prefer to use the publisher defaults option of the ereader. We are only looking for a text typeface, others are set.
