Semplicità and fascist connotations?

On our German website someone made the claim without a source that Nebiolo’s Semplicità is seen as “font of the fascists in Italy”. 

I wonder what you guys think about that. I understand there are certain usages at the time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there is any, let alone a strong connotation in the public eye.
