pablink Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform Any good classes/courses in NYC? There is never enough typography courses I can take :-) I've been to SVA and took a class with Ed Benguiat, great attention to detail, and such a fun class!! not much about layout, grid etc. Any schools, teachers, classes anyone in NYC know of? Thanks for your attention
J.Montalbano Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 You should check the TDC website. The club is offering more and more classes geared towards improving designers typographic skills. http://tdc.org/events/education/index.html More classes for the fall will be forthcoming.
pablink Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 This is great. The walking tour should be awesome!
peter_bain Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Cooper Union is offering summer classes in both type and calligraphy. Also, Parsons, SVA, and Pratt offer classes in their professional/continuing education divisions, taught by working professionals. Or head up to scenic Lake Cayuga, where I will be teaching "Stems and Beziers: An Introduction to Typeface Design" at the Wells Book Arts Summer Institute, July 9-15. Ismuth Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I'm finally back in the US after traveling abroad, and I've signed up for James Montelbano's Type Design course at SVA this fall. I can't wait! http://www.sva.edu/continuing-education/graphic-design/typeface-design-1...
Jack Jennings Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Typography Summer School (http://typographysummerschool.org) which is usually run in London, is expanding to NY this year. They're accepting applications until the 1st of May. (Disclosure: taught by designers that I do some work for.)
printguru Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 This is supposed to be a good intro course: http://www.nobledesktop.com/graphic-design/
