Abraham Lee Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I did some searching in this forum, but if there has already been some discussion, I guess I couldn't think of the right keyword for what I'm looking for. For those of you who have successfully created/use/sell commercial fonts, I'm curious to know what other font-related things need to be accounted for to make a font work well (cross-platform, if possible). I'm thinking more along the lines of font metadata (e.g., OS/2 properties, Panose, etc.). Does anyone have a checklist they go through before publishing font files to distributors? I have a general feel for what is needed, but I feel like I'm always discovering one more thing I should have set before creating the files.
Ralf Herrmann Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 That’s a big question! One tip I can give: check out Karsten Lücke’s papers on font production …http://kltf.de/kltf_otproduction.shtml
Abraham Lee Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 That's great! Precisely the kind of thing I was looking for. I'll read thoroughly through that and see if I can summarize some things back in this thread. If anyone else has references like this, I think this would be a great place to keep track of them.
