Ricardo Cordoba Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform "Der Scutt, the architect of Trump Tower, designed the Trump Tower logo. (...) Scutt, however, says he did not consider the typeface’s history when he chose Stymie. 'I couldn’t give a rat’s ass as to the history of it,' he says. 'I chose it because I liked it.' ” http://www.designobserver.com/archives/entry.html?id=39537
Dunwich Type Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Makes sense to me. People worry too much about the historical associations typefaces have because they forget that most non-designers haven’t a clue about anything more than a few decades old. Aesthetics are a hell of a lot more important.
Ricardo Cordoba Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Well, I think this architect qualifies as a non-[graphic] designer... ;-D
