Frode Bo Helland Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 This topic was imported from the Typophile platform Hi. I'm looking into Plantin for a project, but none of the versions I found include small caps or old style figures. Galaxie Copernicus is a good alternative, but I'd still like to know if there's anything similar out there I might've overlooked. Suggestions? Cheers.
raph Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Musee looks like it might be up your alley, and possibly Alia as well.
CameronWilliams Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 This site has several good substitutes http://www.dutchtypelibrary.nl/
Stephen Coles Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I don't think you'll find anything better than Galaxie.
Mark Simonson Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Fonts.com (Monotype) has all sorts of small caps and old style figure sets for Plantin: http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/SearchPage.htm?kid=plantin Not in OT format, unfortunately. (I used to use it, including all the expert sets, on a magazine back in my art director days.)
Stephen Coles Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Oh, silly me, I didn't even check. Of course there are small caps and OSF — in Plantin Pro. See the Character Set.
Frode Bo Helland Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not sure which I'll go for, but Musee definitely catched my eye.
Stephen Coles Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 So you do realize that Plantin with SC and OSF is available?
