BeauW Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 archive.org has hundreds of great texts on (or showcasing) typography. The trick is to track it all down. Some starting points:http://www.archive.org/details/typographyadver00trezgooghttp://www.archive.org/details/ThePracticeOfTypography (I'm reading this now-very good) Type specimens:http://www.archive.org/details/cu31924014559730http://www.archive.org/details/convenientbookof00allirichhttp://www.archive.org/details/cataloguebookofs00clevrichhttp://www.archive.org/details/specimensandpri00incgooghttp://www.archive.org/details/printingtypespec00millrichhttp://www.archive.org/details/pacificcoastblue00amerrichhttp://www.archive.org/details/alphabeticalinde00daviuofthttp://www.archive.org/details/typographicspec00cogooghttp://www.archive.org/details/specimensofprint00amerrichhttp://www.archive.org/details/fifteenthbookofs00cincrichhttp://www.archive.org/details/specimensoflinot00trowrich And if that isn't enough:http://www.archive.org/details/floralfantasyino00cranrich Some lovely art deco illustration with hand lettering I've been searching through this archive for years and still find new treasures every time I visit.
akos.polgardi Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Thanks for the great resources. Although featuring mainly illustrations, this blog regularly publishes impressive material.

oldnick Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I am rather fond of the page I have from a missal, printed in Venice in 1525. And two leaves from “The Canterbury Tales” from about the same time. And a couple of leaves from “De Boecken genaemt Apocryphe,” Dordeccht, 1618-1619. Of course, my autographs of four of the five original Rolling Stones (Brian Jones didn't sign) is pretty cool, too…
