A letterpress studio creating limited edition books from a range of beautiful metal type founts – lovingly collected over 27 years. The atelier is Michael Caine's playground – producing his publications, editions of modern European poetry, often illustrated with his own original prints (most recently under the imprint Editions Petropolis). Design/printing projects of every hue subsidise Caine's fanciful work as artist-printer-publisher and he has over 140 book commissions for a wide range of galleries, bibliophilic clubs, publishers, artists, poets, to his name. Small jobbing projects (from business cards to full-size posters) have also kept things ticking over.
