Member Dom…
This is printed from a metal typeset used for hotstamping on leather flight suit name tags. This person is trying to recreate his fathers US Navy leather name tag from the 1980's The lettering would have read: MIKE DEMAAR AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHER USS AMERICA Being an aircraft carrier, the name tag is likely to have be made on the ship itself. Lettering size shown would be about 14pt Link to comment
Member Gec…
Impossible to be accurate from that faded sample. Obviously a script typefaces from that era, you might try "Freestyle Script" from Letraset or "Freehand 575" from Bitstream. https://www.myfonts.com/search/Freestyle+Script/ https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstream/freehand-575/ Link to comment
Member Ric…
As Gecko said. Also, there is no guarantee it is a font at all (or one that has been digitised). In any case, here are some possibly similar options: download at MyFonts download at MyFonts download at MyFonts Not historically viable, but based on popular styles of lettering: House Industries’ Sign Painter collection, Narrabeen, Pinatas Marks. 2 Link to comment
